Conclusion

This investigation produced two general conclusions.  The simple cases proved that the results from STWAVE may not be entirely accurate.  The extent of this deviation is not known, however, because of various reasons explained in the concluding paragraph in the Simple Cases and Results section.  For example, the computer model and the hand calculations used different diffraction theories.   It is recommended that this portion of our investigation be looked into further.  More detailed hand calculations are necessary to accurately determine the extent STWAVE's deviation.

The second conclusion from this investigation is that the Sheboygan Harbor does a good job of blocking incoming waves from all directions.  Although the wave heights produced in the Complex Case may not be precise, this conclusion can be found through qualitatively viewing the different wave height results.  In every case, the wave heights diminish once inside the harbor.
