Motivations
There are several Lake Mendota "issues" that need solutions. By
learning more about the physical processes that control the lake
environment I will be able to better understand the causes of the
"issues" and what solutions may exist.
Some of the "issues" are...
-sediment accumulation
-erosion due to wave action along the shoreline
-excessive weed growth
- blue-green algae blooms
-water quality problems

Objectives
1. To gain a vague understanding of the theory that SWAN is based on.
2. To apply SWAN to Lake Mendota (wind-generated-wave height distribution)
