Methods of Analysis: Several methods of
analysis were used. Given the two different wave-breaking
artificial reef sites, two different methods were used. For the Gran Domicus Resort in Punta Cana,
Domincian Republic, a more empirical analysis was performed. For the El Segundo beach reclamation
project, a more thorough computer analysis was performed. It is important to
keep in mind that artificial reefs have been a great success in the
past. Anytime a ship sinks in shallow
waters, it can become both a wave-breaking artificial reef and a
harboring-aquatic-life artificial reef.
But just recently have artificial reefs been engineered. Through the engineering process, the reefs
will become more efficient as more research is completed. |
