Results of this analysis were as expected.
n
  • Sediment resuspension depth increases as wind speed increases.  As a results, larger areas along the north shore of the Keweenaw experience greater volumes of sediment resuspension during strong winds and storm events.
  • nResuspension due to wind-wave action, coupled with the Keweenaw Current (longshore, thermal current) have the ability to transport stamp sand particles great distances from their origins, as far as locations like Keweenaw Bay (east coast of the Keweenaw).
  • nCoastal systems are much more complex than as approached here.  However, this project helped develop a greater understanding of coastal systems and how hydrodynamics affects sediment transport and coastal geomorphology.
