Docks provide access for water based recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and swimming.  With increased amount of docks in lakes and the coastal environment, docks create problems to the coastal environment by creating sediment transport disruptions, wave redistributions, and alternating water depths.  In this website, we analyze dock structure effects on wave energy and its relevance to local agencies.  Key issues that relate dock structure effects on lake shorelines and its importance will be discussed in the following report.
